This is a creative leadership role with significant hands-on ownership. You'll set the creative direction across marketing, help evolve our broader brand identity, and bring ideas to life yourself. We're looking for someone equally energized by developing big ideas and making them real, whether that means concepting a major campaign, designing an ad, or collaborating with freelance talent. We're a practical, collaborative team that values exceptional creative judgment, low egos, and a bias toward action.

What you'll do

  • Own creative direction across marketing, bringing a strong point of view to how the Material Bank brand shows up across channels and audiences.
  • Concept and execute major brand moments, including integrated campaigns, product launches, events, and physical activations.
  • Lead creative development across ongoing marketing channels, including paid advertising, email, social, digital, and print, balancing high creative standards with speed and execution.
  • Remain hands-on in the design process while leveraging freelance creative support to extend the team's capabilities.
  • Build on and evolve our brand identity system, finding new ways to express the brand while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product Design, and senior leadership, including our CEO, to translate business priorities into compelling creative.
  • Collaborate across our US and European teams to ensure the brand feels globally consistent while remaining relevant to local audiences.
  • Help define how we integrate AI into our creative workflows, exploring new ways to improve creative development and execution.

What we're looking for

  • 7–10 years of experience in brand and marketing design, with a portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft, conceptual thinking, and creative judgment.
  • Experience developing creative across both major brand campaigns and day-to-day marketing channels.
  • A strong creative point of view and the ability to evolve an established brand system while maintaining its integrity.
  • Strong understanding of how creative supports marketing objectives, balancing brand-building, audience relevance, and performance.
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach, with the confidence to champion ideas, incorporate feedback, and partner effectively across functions and with senior leaders.
  • A bias toward action and the ability to produce exceptional work in a fast-moving, high-output environment.
