The company is co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore.

About the Role

Nium is seeking a Business Development and Go-to-Market Associate based in São Paulo to help grow our business across Latin America.

You will research prospective clients, execute targeted outreach, qualify opportunities, and contribute to pipeline growth across Latin America. Working with our commercial team, you will help bring cross-border payouts, card issuing, and emerging payment solutions to businesses across priority markets and industries.

We are looking for a commercial professional with 2+ years of relevant experience and a record of achieving measurable goals. You will bring strong communication skills, regional market awareness, and the determination to turn research and outreach into meaningful client conversations.

What You'll Do

  • Research prospective clients: Identify companies, decision-makers, and payment use cases that align with Nium’s solutions and target markets.
  • Support outbound prospecting: Develop thoughtful outreach through email, professional networks, and calls to start conversations with potential clients.
  • Qualify opportunities: Understand prospects’ businesses, payment needs, and priorities, and connect qualified opportunities with the appropriate commercial colleagues.
  • Support go-to-market execution: Help prepare prospect lists, account research, presentations, and outreach campaigns for priority industries and markets.
  • Learn the payments business: Build practical knowledge of cross-border payouts, card issuing, and emerging payment solutions, and learn to explain their value clearly.
  • Prepare for client conversations: Support meeting preparation, capture accurate notes, and coordinate timely follow-up and next steps.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with Business Development, Marketing, Solutions Partners, and other colleagues to support prospect engagement and deal progression.
  • Maintain accurate records: Keep CRM contacts, activities, and opportunity information current so the team can track progress and follow through.
  • Deliver measurable results: Meet agreed outreach, qualified meeting, and pipeline contribution goals, using feedback and performance data to improve conversion.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of professional experience in sales, business development, customer engagement, market research, or go-to-market execution in a corporate or commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving specific, measurable goals, with the ability to explain your contribution and results.
  • Demonstrated ability to sustain prospecting activity, work through rejection or setbacks, and make progress toward demanding commercial goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply feedback, take ownership of performance, and improve your approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively, engage prospective clients, and ask questions that uncover business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to research companies, identify relevant decision-makers, and translate findings into targeted outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow through on commitments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to use CRM and sales tools to manage outreach and track results. Our team uses Salesforce, Unify, and Gong, and familiarity with any of these tools is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in English for collaboration with colleagues and clients.

Location and Language Requirements

  • Based in São Paulo, supporting Latin America. Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is required, in addition to professional proficiency in English.

Additional Experience We Value

  • Professional experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or a B2B technology company.
  • Experience supporting commercial activity across Latin American markets and adapting outreach to local business needs.
  • Practical use of AI tools to support research, organization, or drafting, with careful review for accuracy.
