Assistant Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Manager based in India.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to oversee cash application activities within a finance and accounting operations environment. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely cash postings, manage daily account balancing, and resolve suspense items to support efficient accounts receivable operations. You will take ownership of operational performance while coordinating with clients and leading team activities. The position also involves presenting performance updates during regular weekly and monthly reviews, helping stakeholders stay informed and aligned. This opportunity is suited to a finance professional with strong accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage people and processes effectively.

Accountabilities

• Oversee cash application activities, ensuring accurate and timely posting of customer payments.
• Manage daily balancing activities and investigate, resolve, and monitor suspense items.
• Support end-to-end Accounts Receivable operations, maintaining process accuracy and consistency.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
• Lead and support team members, helping maintain productivity, quality, and operational performance.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance updates to clients and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor operational results, identify discrepancies, and support continuous process improvements.
• Use reporting and analytical tools to track performance and support informed decision-making.
• Requirements:
• 4–7 years of experience in Finance and Accounting (F&A) operations, preferably within Accounts Receivable.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Practical expertise in cash postings, daily balancing, and suspense account handling.
• Good knowledge of end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial operations management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and Tableau for reporting and data analysis.
• Strong client and people management capabilities, with the confidence to lead performance discussions and present operational results.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy.
• Leadership skills, sound problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
