About the role

About us

Recovery doesn't happen overnight – and at our Community Care Unit, you'll help people take the steps towards a more independent future. Supporting adults aged 18–65 in a supervised residential setting, you'll work alongside residents as they rebuild confidence, develop everyday living skills and strengthen their ability to manage their mental and physical health.

From learning to cook, shop and use public transport to reconnecting with the community, returning to work or study, you'll help turn recovery goals into real-life progress. Our facility connects residents, families and carers with the support they need along the way.

About the role

  • Provide safe, evidence-based personal care and nursing support to adult residents experiencing severe and enduring mental illness, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Support residents with personal hygiene, daily care needs and activities that promote their wellbeing and individual recovery goals.
  • Observe residents, recognise changes in their care needs and promptly report relevant information to the Registered Nurse.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe, supportive and culturally appropriate residential environment, including assisting with clinical supplies, equipment and incident reporting.

About you

  • Sound foundational clinical knowledge and evidence-based care skills; Certificate III or relevant nursing studies highly desirable.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality personal care while maintaining residents' dignity, comfort and individual needs.
  • A genuine commitment to safe, compassionate, person-centred care and upholding CQ Health's values.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and sound judgement, with the ability to negotiate positively, manage challenging situations and contribute to a supportive team environment.
