About the role

What your day could look like

As an Assistant in Nursing, you'll help deliver person-centred care that supports residents to live with comfort and dignity. From providing hands-on support to working closely with nurses and care teams, you'll contribute to positive experiences and outcomes for people who call Forest View Residential Aged Care their home.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Supporting residents with daily living activities that promote wellbeing, comfort and quality of life.
  • Working alongside Registered and Enrolled Nurses to deliver safe, high-quality care and monitor changes in residents' needs.
  • Helping create a welcoming, respectful and safe environment where residents feel valued and supported.
  • Contributing to quality and safety initiatives by accurately documenting care and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who brings compassion, patience and professionalism to every interaction. You understand that great aged care is about more than meeting needs. It's about building trust, preserving dignity and helping people enjoy the best possible quality of life. You take pride in being part of a team, communicate openly and respectfully, and approach your work with integrity and courage. Most importantly, you're motivated by making a genuine difference in the lives of older people and their families.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Health Services Assistance (or equivalent), or current nursing studies meeting eligibility requirements.
  • Ability to provide safe, person-centred care within a residential aged care environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing teams and residents.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, quality care and safe work practices.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in residential aged care and/or knowledge of contemporary aged care quality standards.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.

Together, you'll help create safer, more supportive and more meaningful experiences for older people in our care.
