Through a wide variety of programs, services, and amenities, students and employees are empowered to explore possibilities, develop passions, and master skills that will position them for success in both career and life. Robert Morris University Campus Recreation is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly motivated leader to serve as the Assistant Director of Club Sports Multimedia & Marketing. Reporting directly to the Campus Recreation leadership team, this position provides high-level administrative direction, operational oversight, and creative vision for the Club Sports department’s media landscape. The Assistant Director is responsible for directing comprehensive live broadcast productions, designing multi-platform digital marketing strategies, and spearheading program-wide student-athlete recruitment operations. By building collaborative partnerships across campus and establishing high-quality production standards, the Assistant Director plays a vital role in expanding the reach, visibility, and brand equity of RMU Club Sports.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all game-day video production and live streaming operations for club sports competitions, podcasts, and department events, establishing high-quality broadcast benchmarks that meet or exceed collegiate league standards.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute long-term branding and marketing strategies designed to maximize club sports visibility, drive spectator attendance, and increase community engagement.
  • Oversee the creation of professional live stream graphics packages, including scorebugs, motion overlays, intermission screens, and real-time team statistics, to deliver an industry-standard broadcast experience.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and formally evaluate a dedicated student production crew and part-time staff, fostering professional development in sports media and production.
  • Coordinate game-day staffing for home events, managing schedules, availability tracking, and all necessary staff communications.
  • Partner with the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports and the club sports coaching staff to implement and audit recruitment processes. Assist in establishing a robust data bank of prospects utilizing varied recruiting services, distributing prospect lists, and evaluating recruitment software efficiency.
  • Lead the development of promotional graphics, target digital campaigns, and high-impact highlight videos to support coaches in attracting elite prospective student-athletes to RMU.
  • Manage the setup, maintenance, and inventory of all digital streaming and production equipment, ensuring technical issues are proactively addressed.
  • Serve as an additional point of contact to RMU Athletics and the Academic Media Center to streamline resource sharing and collaborate on university-wide video and audio content initiatives.
  • Manage and optimize the Campus Recreation YouTube channel and secondary digital platforms. Track content analytics and implement tools to assess and improve online brand awareness.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Club Sports website, ensuring accurate and timely updates of team rosters, schedules, results, standings, news articles, recruiting information, multimedia content, and program announcements.
  • Collaborate with coaches and team leadership to ensure all website content reflects current team operations and supports departmental marketing and recruitment objectives.
  • Ensure all ACHA Men’s Division I ice hockey home games are live-streamed in compliance with league standards to facilitate scouting and public access.
  • Support broader Campus Recreation and university initiatives, including representing Club Sports at admissions information sessions, open houses, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports with daily administration and oversight of all Club Sport & Intramural programs, ensuring alignment with departmental, university, and governing body policies.
  • Serve as a resource for club sport coaches, officers, and student leaders by guiding organizational management, policy interpretation, and program expectations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Competitive & Recreational Sports, or other campus recreation administrators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required—strongly preferred in Sport Management, Media Production, Sport Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a closely related field. A combination of education and equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in video production, livestreaming, and digital marketing. Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a campus recreation, intercollegiate athletics, or club sports environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in video production and live-broadcast software (e.g., Streamlabs, OBS, Adobe Premiere Pro) and graphic design applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar creative platforms).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills. Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage logistics under tight athletic schedules, and work independently with high strategic initiative.
