About the role

Computer World Services, Corp. (CWS) seeks an Asset / Equipment Specialist to support equipment accountability and asset lifecycle activities for the USMEPCOM ENLIST program. Working under the direction of the Asset Manager, this position supports Hand Receipt Holders (HRHs), the USMEPCOM Property Book Office (PBO), and program teams by maintaining accurate asset records, assisting with physical inventories, tracking maintenance agreements, preparing disposition documentation, and contributing to required asset reports.

The Asset / Equipment Specialist helps ensure that Government-Furnished Property (GFP) and other program equipment are properly documented throughout its lifecycle, from receipt and assignment through transfer, maintenance, refresh, return, and disposition.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the Asset Manager, Hand Receipt Holders, and the USMEPCOM PBO with equipment accountability activities.
  • Maintain accurate asset records (serial numbers, asset identifiers, descriptions, locations, custodians, condition, and disposition status) and update Government-designated asset-management repositories after receipts, transfers, returns, replacements, and dispositions.
  • Assist with physical inventories and audits; document discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with asset owners, site personnel, logistics, procurement, configuration management, and program leadership.
  • Reconcile asset records against shipping, receiving, maintenance, configuration, and disposition documentation.
  • Prepare data tables, findings, and status information for Asset Audit Reports, and consolidate asset metrics, risks, issues, and corrective-action status for Monthly Status Report inputs.
  • Track maintenance agreements, warranties, licenses, and support coverage, including renewal and expiration dates.
  • Prepare equipment disposition packages in accordance with PBO guidance for obsolete, excess, or surplus GFP, and maintain supporting approvals, transfer, shipping, and disposal records.
  • Maintain asset-management logs, trackers, checklists, SOPs, and templates, and support equipment refreshes, site moves, and modernization initiatives.
  • Protect sensitive equipment records and handle Government information in accordance with applicable security and records-management requirements.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Associate’s degree or relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in IT asset management, equipment accountability, inventory control, logistics, property administration, or management analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and reconcile accurate asset records and to support physical inventories, audits, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with asset custodians, technical teams, and Government stakeholders across remote, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and written communication skills.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience supporting federal or DoD property-accountability programs, including Government-Furnished Property.
  • Familiarity with Hand Receipt Holder and PBO processes and DoD equipment transfer, inventory, and disposition requirements.
  • Experience with ServiceNow HAM/SAM, CMDB, or a comparable asset-management platform.
  • Experience with barcode scanners, RFID tools, or other automated inventory technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, or Power BI for collaboration and reporting.

Certifications

Security Clearance

  • Active Secret clearance or higher is required.
