About the role

Jasmax is seeking an experienced Architect to join its Sydney CBD studio, working alongside some of the industry’s leading designers to deliver city-shaping and nation-defining projects.

Jasmax is a leading Asia-Pacific architecture and design practice with studios across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. With over 250 staff members, Jasmax offers multi-disciplinary expertise and integrated design solutions across architecture, interior design and urban design to deliver complex projects across all sectors, from city-shaping infrastructure to local community spaces.

The role

As a well-rounded Architect, you will either lead or contribute to projects. When you’re the project architect, you’ll lead the project from the start, ensuring design quality and technical solutions meet standards.

You will guide a team through all phases, including concept development, design documentation, construction and site observations.

When you aren’t leading projects, you’ll contribute to the team, embracing regenerative design and designing with respect to Country.

Attributes, Skills and Experience

  • A master’s degree in architecture (from Australia or overseas).
  • 10–15 years' architectural experience following completion of your master’s degree.
  • Experience in small to mid-size firms, across some of the following sectors:
  • Education – schools and tertiary.
  • Science and health – hospitals, allied health and labs.
  • Multi-residential – aged care, disability services and student accommodation.
  • Civic and community – theatres, community centres, galleries and museums.
  • Sport and recreation facilities – pools, sports halls and playing fields
  • A quick, adaptable and responsive work style.
  • Proficiency in Revit, including detailing and model management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards and planning and approval processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An interest in regenerative design, designing with respect to Country and creating meaningful, considered architectural outcomes.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to take ownership of project outcomes and deliver work to a high standard.
