About the role

What your day could look like

As a Senior Anaesthetic Technician or Clinical Nurse Anaesthetics, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality care for patients undergoing surgery and procedures. From supporting complex clinical situations to strengthening education, quality and team capability, you'll work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team to create better outcomes for patients and the wider community.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Coordinating and delivering advanced peri-anaesthetic care that supports positive patient outcomes and safe clinical practice.
  • Guiding, mentoring and developing staff and students to build capability, confidence and excellence across the service.
  • Leading quality improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, compliance and continuous service improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to support service planning, resource management and best-practice care.

Let's Talk About You

You're someone who combines clinical expertise with a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. You lead by example, stay calm in complex situations and bring compassion, integrity and courage to every interaction. Whether you're supporting a patient through a critical moment, mentoring a colleague or driving improvements in care delivery, you take pride in making a meaningful difference. You're not just focused on delivering excellent care today, you're committed to building stronger services for the future.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Relevant anaesthetic qualification or registration within your professional discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in peri-anaesthetic practice with advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and leadership capabilities within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and ongoing professional development.

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in a large regional or tertiary healthcare setting and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty area.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
