About the role
We know what we want to say. We don't know which of fifty ways of saying it will get a meeting with the head of alternatives at one of the best advisory firms in the country. Your job is to find out, fast, and build the engine that does more of what works.
About Equi
Equi gives investors the tools to own their financial future. We bring institutional-quality alternative strategies, in hedge funds and private credit, that are hard to get access to, to wealth advisors, family offices and institutions. We build and manage multi-strategy funds and white-labeled funds for some of the best independent multi-family offices and advisory firms in the country, pairing Silicon Valley tech with Wall St expertise.
Our growth is accelerating rapidly. We just launched the largest client in our history, have several more signed or close, and are targeting a multiple of today's assets. We're about ten people, so every hire here shapes a function rather than inheriting one. We hire builders and team players that aren't afraid of taking a high degree of ownership.
The role
You'll build Equi's go-to-market engine and own it as it scales: outbound, content, social, paid, events, search and AI-answer visibility, and the automation that ties them together. You'll start with what already works, our current outbound and content, turn it into a system that compounds, then build what's missing. You'll report to our Head of Sales.
This seat needs both halves. A strong engineer without commercial instinct is the wrong hire. So is a strong marketer who can't build. You work like an engineer and a scientist: ship the system, run many experiments at once, and let the numbers decide what scales and what gets cut, including two weeks of your own work.
Equi is an SEC-registered investment adviser, so our marketing has to meet SEC advertising rules. You'll build compliance review and record-keeping into the engine from day one, so it can move fast without creating risk.
As you automate the engine, ideally automating much of your own day-to-day away, you'll learn Equi from the inside. That's the best preparation for a client-facing IR or sales seat with automation behind it, and we're happy to grow the right person into one.
What success looks like in year one
- A growing, attributable stream of qualified interest and booked meetings with allocators at RIAs and family offices
- Signal-based outbound, run by agents, that books meetings with the repetitive SDR work automated away
- Our existing outbound and content turned into a repeatable system that compounds
- A recognizable voice on LinkedIn and X, with a content cadence that never goes dark
- Many experiments running at once, with testing and reporting the sales team can forecast against
What you'll own
- Ideas: the channels, angles and experiments no one here has thought of
- Outbound: ICP, signals, enrichment, scoring, personalization, sequencing, deliverability and routing into the CRM
- The content machine: the founders' podcast, video and webinars, turning one two-hour session with a principal into weeks of posts, clips and threads
- Our voice: social and thought leadership that makes Equi the name CIOs associate with evergreen alternatives for the wealth channel
- Paid and events: targeted paid campaigns aimed at allocators, and the conferences and hosted events that put us in the room with them, each judged on meetings booked
- Measurement: dashboards and attribution that tie every build to meetings, pipeline and revenue
- Guardrails: quality checks on agent-written outreach and compliance review on everything public
Who you are
- Ideas first: you've seen what sticks and what doesn't, and you're ready to throw work away fast when results are poor.
- Proven demand: you've built programs that produced real pipeline through outbound, content, paid, events, search or social, and you can show the numbers.
- A builder: comfortable with APIs, SQL and scripting, and fluent with no-code automation, data enrichment and CRM plumbing. You build, you don't just configure.
- AI-native: you build with coding agents and LLM workflows every day, and you check agent output for accuracy, tone and compliance before it goes out under a brand.
- Commercial: you can explain how a given build turns into meetings and dollars, not just that it runs.
- Passion for investing: our audience is sophisticated, and you can speak their language on day one.
- Taste: what you ship looks and reads sharp.
Nice to have: experience in alternatives or asset management, standing up a growth function from scratch, data warehousing and attribution modeling, and a pinch-hitter streak for IR, client service or a launch when it needs you.
How we work
Team-first, flat and direct. Ideas win on merit, people argue a position and change their mind when the evidence says so, and nobody stays narrowly in lane when there's an adjacent fire. Everyone here builds their own tools rather than waiting for a roadmap. New York, in the office.
How we hire
A short screen, then a take-home: one idea for reaching our buyers, a first working version, and a short video. Then a career interview, a review of your take-home with our Head of Sales, and an onsite with the founders and team.
