About the role

Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Advanced Children’s Social Worker to join its client's East Riding of Yorkshire Localities Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior practitioner to take a lead role in complex child care cases, support the development of other social workers, and contribute to service-wide practice improvement. The role involves managing complex caseloads, supporting looked after children, and providing professional guidance, mentoring, and supervision to less experienced colleagues and social work students.

  • Work in accordance with childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies and procedures.
  • Co-work complex cases alongside other social workers within the team.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using electronic case management systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for reviews, panels, and court proceedings.
  • Develop integrated multi-agency practice to assess, plan, and deliver services for children and families.
  • Mentor, coach, and support newly qualified social workers, including opportunities for co-working and observational learning.
  • Support and supervise social work students.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to practitioners within the team, including attendance at reviews, panels, and court as required.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice across the service through coaching, training, team meetings, and dissemination of research, policy, and procedure updates.
  • Support the Team Manager in developing and embedding quality assurance processes to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility.
  • Communicate effectively in English to meet the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Degree level qualification in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualified experience in Children’s Social Work.
  • Experience of managing complex child care and looked after children cases.
  • Proven ability to mentor, support, and develop other social workers.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory frameworks, and safeguarding practice.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
