About the role

This frontline support role provides essential support enabling the development and delivery of frontline services, programs and outcomes.

Your new role

Join Metro South Health's Patient Transport team and play an important role in coordinating patient transport services that support timely access to safe, quality healthcare. Working within the MSH Patient Flow Program, you will provide essential administrative, coordination and reporting support to help deliver efficient, patient-focused services across Metro South Health. In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate patient transport services by managing non-urgent transport bookings, facilitating communication and working closely with the Nurse Manager to support timely and effective service delivery.
  • Provide high-quality administrative and reporting support, including database management, spreadsheet maintenance, KPI monitoring, data analysis and report preparation to support operational performance.
  • Support financial and logistical coordination, including invoice reconciliation and arrangements for interstate and international patient transfers, helping ensure transport activities run smoothly.
  • Contribute to service improvement and team effectiveness by coordinating meetings, maintaining accurate records, troubleshooting the RaFT transport system and assisting with projects.

About you

You are an organised, proactive and customer-focused administration professional who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment. With strong communication skills, sound technical capabilities and a commitment to quality service, you can balance competing priorities while supporting positive outcomes for patients, staff and the wider organisation. You will bring:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders, respond to enquiries and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to prioritise competing demands, manage your workload independently and respond flexibly to changing operational requirements.
  • High-level computer and data management skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn or work with systems such as RaFT and hospital databases. Experience with financial reconciliation will be highly regarded.
  • A commitment to accuracy, accountability and patient-focused service, demonstrating sound judgement, discretion, attention to detail and behaviours aligned with Metro South Health's values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and Excellence.

What we can offer you

  • We offer a family-friendly work environment that supports you in making the most of Queensland's laid-back lifestyle.
  • We are renowned for teaching and research excellence with strong relations with Queensland's leading tertiary institutions.
  • We want to empower you to build a long-term career, with countless opportunities to learn and grow, no matter your role
  • You'll have all the benefits of working for Queensland's world-class public health system including generous leave entitlements, attractive salary and remuneration packages, salary packaging and access to relevant professional development allowances and/or leave, study and research assistance, corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.
