About the role

In this role, you’ll join our Community Care team and play an important part in keeping our services running smoothly. Your work will directly support the teams delivering services to people across our community, ensuring clients, care staff and internal teams receive accurate, timely and responsive support.

No two days will look exactly the same. You’ll work across rostering, finance, customer service and general administration, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can adapt to changing priorities and works well as part of a collaborative team.

We’re looking for someone who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment while bringing the City of Greater Geelong values to the way they work each day. This means working collaboratively, supporting others, being open to change and looking for better ways of doing things.

Work type: Fixed Term, Full Time (21 months)

Classification: Band 4 $76,010 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating client service rosters and responding to changing scheduling requirements.
  • Providing friendly and responsive support to clients, carers, care staff and internal teams.
  • Managing purchase orders, receipting, invoices and other finance administration.
  • Supporting employee onboarding and a range of general administrative processes.
  • Managing shared inboxes, waitlists and administrative requests while balancing competing priorities.
  • Maintaining accurate client, employee and service information across multiple systems.
  • Working closely with the team to solve problems, share knowledge, improve processes and keep services running efficiently.

About you

You’re someone who takes pride in being organised, accurate and helpful. You enjoy working in a busy, fast-paced environment and can confidently balance competing priorities while remaining flexible when things change.

You understand that great administration plays an important part in delivering a positive experience for clients, care staff and colleagues. You’ll bring a practical, can-do approach, be comfortable learning new systems and asking questions, and enjoy working together to get things done.

Just as importantly, you’ll bring a team-focused approach and demonstrate the City’s values through the way you work, communicate, support others and respond to change.

Essential Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in an administrative support role.
  • Experience managing a range of administrative tasks and processes from start to finish.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to confidently prioritise your workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Confidence working across Microsoft Office and multiple business systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with care and professionalism.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support others and contribute to continuous improvement.
