About the role

About BMD

BMD is Australia’s leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business. As the largest privately owned civil contractor in Australia, BMD is at the forefront of excellence, with a growing international footprint extending to the Philippines and the United Kingdom.

Driven by a purpose of powering futures and creating enduring legacies, we deliver complex infrastructure solutions that connect and transform communities. For over 45 years, our diverse portfolio of projects and roles provides exceptional opportunities for our people to grow and make a lasting impact. As part of our team, you’ll help deliver challenging projects, supported by leadership within an inclusive people-first culture.

About the Role

We're seeking an organised and proactive Administration Assistant to join our team in a varied role supporting the day-to-day activities of our Plant Department.

Working closely with plant, fleet and operational teams, you'll assist with procurement, asset administration, fleet coordination and logistics activities that help keep projects moving. You'll also provide broader administrative support across the business, including employee onboarding, travel coordination and general office administration.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in being organised and thrives in a busy team environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support procurement activities including purchasing PPE, signage and project establishment items.
  • Maintain asset registers and assist with asset quotations and approvals.
  • Coordinate fleet administration including vehicle deployments, licensing and disposals.
  • Assist with logistics activities, including local deliveries and collections.
  • Support onboarding activities for new employees, including documentation, medicals, inductions and training bookings.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and general project support requirements.
  • Assist with office administration, meeting room coordination and maintaining office supplies.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across the business as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an administration, office support or coordination role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support a variety of teams.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality support.

Benefits

We believe our people do their best work when they feel supported, personally and professionally. That’s why we offer benefits that go beyond the basics:

  • grow your career with specialised learning and development programs
  • be recognised at our annual employee awards event and through our Thrive reward and recognition platform
  • prioritise wellbeing with mental health support and discounted gym access
  • support your family with paid parental leave for primary and secondary carers and flexible work arrangements available
  • access perks with novated leasing, specialised Power Perks and discounts with hundreds of retailers.

Diversity and inclusion

We recognise that we are strengthened by diversity, and we embrace differences as an equal opportunity employer providing a flexible and inclusive workplace.

So, join our team, be yourself and help us power futures and create legacies.

We’re a purpose and values-led business guided by our values of family, empowered, collaborative and driven. For further details on what makes BMD unique, head to https://www.bmdgroup.global/careers
